Flaxseed oil contains a lot of essential fatty acids. A sufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids is important because they can prevent tissue damage. Omega fatty acids also play an important role in the condition of the joints, intestines, mucous membranes, skin and coat. The benefits of flaxseed oil are based on the amount of unsaturated fatty acids. About 60% of the fatty acids in flaxseed oil are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is omega-3 fatty acid. Flaxseed oil also contains vitamins A and E, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and calcium.

Flaxseed oil is an excellent source of energy. The level of addition may be recommended for about 2 to 5% of the weight of the food.

Horse: 2 - 4 tablespoons / day or, if used as energy supplement, 2 to 5 dl / day.

Dogs: 15 ml or about 5% of the weight of the food.
