Setup:

Busy Buddy should fit freely in the horse's mouth, it should not pull at the corners of the mouth.
Find the position where the horse starts chewing.

Busy Buddy should be placed just under the mouth crease. It should not be too tight, otherwise, it is associated with a bit and is not a relaxation tool. You want it to rest just on the tongue, low enough for the horse to feel the need to chew. No crease should be visible.
